Thunder Bay, Ontario considers $40-million capital budget
Staff at the City of Thunder Bay, Ontario have submitted a proposed tax-supported capital budget for 2012 of $40.2349 million to City Council for review.
That budget, which does not include water works and other rate-supported projects, is subject to review and ratification in February and March. A public meeting at City Hall is scheduled February 7.
Of the proposed capital budget in 2012 of $40.2349 million, $35.7441 million (including $22.0296 million on infrastructure and operations) would be spent on city departments while $4.4908 million would be spent on projects for boards and agencies.
The proposed 2012 tax-supported capital budget and capital forecast for 2013 through 2022 is available in PDF format on the City of Thunder Bay website.
Council is scheduled to review the 2012 rate-supported capital and operating budgets, as well as the police budget, on Feb. 8.
On Feb. 15 and 21, City Council is scheduled to review the 2012 tax-supported capital and operating budgets, as well as approve the 2012 rate and tax-supported budgets.
A public post-budget consultation meeting is scheduled at 6:30 the evening of Feb. 22 in City Hall council chambers, and the ratification vote is scheduled March 12.
