New Brunswick town nets $1.2-million loan

RICHIBUCTO, N.B.

The Town of Richibucto has been approved for a low-cost $1.2 million infrastructure loan from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Municipal Infrastructure Lending Program.

The loan is being used to upgrade the town’s firehall. Canada’s Economic Action Plan provided $2 billion over two years in direct low-cost loans to municipalities. These low-cost loans were also used by municipalities to fund their contribution for cost-shared federal infrastructure programming.
