Four companies short-listed to renovate London, Ontario hospital
LONDON, Ont.
Four companies have been shortlisted to build and finance the final phase of renovations at three London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Health Care sites.
The project includes renovation of approximately 50,000 square feet of space at the LHSC’s University Hospital and renovation of approximately 100,000 square feet at the Victoria Hospital.
The final phase at St. Joseph’s involves renovations to 130,000 square feet of existing space and creation of new space. Work includes demolition of older wood-frame construction to create a new addition.
Infrastructure Ontario is working with LHSC and St. Joseph’s to redevelop both hospitals.
The shortlisted companies are: EllisDon; Bondfield Construction Co. Ltd.; Grant-Nac Ltd.; and a joint venture of SNC-Lavalin Construction (Ontario) Inc. and McKay Cocker Construction Ltd.
Infrastructure Ontario said companies were selected based on their construction experience and financial strength to deliver a project of this size and complexity.
A request for proposals is expected to be issued in September.
Architects are London-based HDR Inc. at LHSC and Tillmann Ruth Mocellin Inc. at St. Joseph’s.
