Founder of door and window manufacturer JELD-WEN dies

WINNIPEG

Richard Wendt, founder of JELD-WEN, one of the world’s largest door and window manufacturers, recently passed away from complications arising from a stroke.

Wendt founded the international window and door company in 1960 and expanded its North American operations in 1996. The company currently employs over 1,200 Canadians with manufacturing plants across Canada.

The company also has locations in 22 countries and more than 20,000 employees worldwide. Wendt passed away August 14.
