Saint-Cuthbert, Quebec gets wastewater funding
SAINT-CUTHBERT, Que.
The Municipality of Saint-Cuthbert will receive $3.3 million in combined government financial assistance under the Communities Component of the Building Canada Fund-Quebec for a wastewater treatment project.
The municipality’s project will involve laying a network of gravity sewer mains for the collection and catchment of municipal wastewater and building a sewage treatment plant.
Completion of this project will require an overall investment of $4.6 million. The governments of Quebec and Canada will each contribute just over $1.6 million toward the work, for a total of $3.3 million in combined government funding, while the Municipality of Saint-Cuthbert will assume $1.3 million of the project’s costs.
The Communities Component of the Building Canada Fund-Quebec is a cost-sharing initiative aimed at funding infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater facilities and cultural and sports centres in communities with fewer than 100,000 residents.
